About the Event:

CAA is launching a new virtual book club series with China’s Hidden Children, a nonfiction text written by Kay Ann Johnson, a China scholar and an adoptive mother to a child born in China. Drawing on years of interviews with Chinese parents, Johnson writes about the negative impact of the One Child Policy on Chinese families and children. We will read the book over three sessions. The first session will take place via Zoom on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 7-9pm EST. This event is open to adoptees 18+ (members and non-members welcome!). The event will not be recorded. Please RSVP at linktr.ee/chineseadopteealliance for the Zoom link.

You can buy a paperback version of China’s Hidden Children for $16.00 from Barnes and Noble, The Strand, and Amazon. Amazon also sells an ebook version for $2.99. CAA can share its ebook copy with two readers at time, so please email events@chineseadopteealliance.org if you would like access. Priority given to those who cannot afford to purchase the book and are unable to access it though their library system. If you have any questions, please email events@chineseadopteealliance.org. As a reminder, please join or renew your membership if you have not already.

We look forward to meeting you and talking with you over Zoom!
