Adoptee Discussion:

So You Got a DNA Kit For the Holidays...Now What?

Join the FCC NYC Events Team on Wednesday, December 16th @ 7 PM EST    for a group discussion as we begin to unpack DNA Testing (23andMe and Ancestry.com to name a few…)

Curious about the experience? We are too - Join us as we dive into some questions that have been on our minds recently -

  1. Have you ever used a DNA testing or Ancestry kit? If not, would you ever consider doing so? Why or why not?
  2. How does adoption specifically affect your decision? How might someone’s thought process be different if they weren’t adopted?
  3. Are you curious about using DNA kits to find biological siblings or parents? How do you feel when you hear stories of successful reunions through DNA tests, and do they affect your decisions about whether or not to do DNA testing?
  4. How important is genetic information to better understanding your identity? Do you feel prepared for the possibility that the test might reveal less than you’d expect?

Registration will close 24 hours in advance. You will be emailed a Zoom link upon registration and at least one reminder email.
