FCCNY National Adoption Awareness Month Event
As many of you may know, November is National Adoption Awareness Month! We will be using the hashtag #AdopteeVisibility and #NAAM to start an online/in-person conversation and spotlight the adoptee narrative throughout the month.
The NYC events committee of the Adoptee Board would like to take this opportunity to bring adoptees together for an afternoon of conversation and fun. You will have an opportunity to fill out the statement "One thing I wish people knew about being adopted is ______." with the opportunity to have your picture and/or your statement shared on our social media.
We will also work on a community art project together! We will be working on a collage. Please bring pictures and/or materials related to adoption or feelings of adoption to the event. (Ex: Pictures of you and your family, clippings from magazines, words that you associate with adoption and your adoptee identity, etc.)
This event will be held on the Upper West Side of Manhattan
on November 23rd from 1 to 3 PM
Exact location will be provided upon registration here with your YA account.

The goal of this event is for us to share and explore similarities and differences in our experiences in a supportive setting and talk about experiences and feelings that non-Chinese adoptees can’t necessarily relate to.
