We’re well into spring and summer is right around the corner! FCCNY is celebrating the warm weather by getting together to volunteer at one of Harlem Grown’s urban farms! No farming-skills are necessary! All you need is to bring yourself and a positive, can-do attitude! Please plan to get dirty - wear pants, closed toed shoes, sun protection, and filled reusable water bottles. If you have your own gardening gloves and gear, feel free to bring them! Please also make sure to bring some water - hydration is important! We are meeting Saturday, June 22 at their main farm on 118 West 134th Street at 11:00am. (The closest subway stop is the 2/3 at 135 Street.) Harlem Grown’s volunteer hours run from 11-3pm, so while we are meeting at 11 (and hope you’ll stay at least an hour), you are welcome to leave at your own accord - the summer heat can be intense and we want to be respectful to everyone’s limits. Ages 12+. Participants are required to bring a signed waiver.
