Join NYC Parks and the Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) for four film screenings at Columbus Park in the month of June. Pack a picnic, grab a blanket, and come enjoy a movie. Movies begin at dusk.

MOCACINEMA at Columbus Park is free and open to the public.

Mulan

Disney feature animation based on the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan. Fearful that her ailing father will be drafted into the Chinese military, Mulan (Ming-Na Wen) takes his spot -- though, as a girl living under a patriarchal regime, she is technically unqualified to serve. She cleverly impersonates a man and goes off to train with fellow recruits.

Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ang Lee made his directorial debut in this drama about Mr. Chu, a widowed tai-chi master, who moves from Beijing to New York to reunite with his son. Lee captures the struggles that come with adjusting to a new life and a new culture.

Berry Gordy’s The Last Dragon

Throwback with MOCA for this 80s kung-fu musical comedy. Set in New York City, the movie follows a martial artist named Leroy Green (A.K.A. "Bruce Leroy"), who has dreams of becoming a great martial artist like his idol Bruce Lee.
