Career Prep Night

Janet Silverman, FCCNY Parent, has volunteered to talk to our young adult members about a variety of topics, starting with building a resume, to planning your job search, all the way to post-interview formalities.

When: Thursday August 3rd, at 6pm
Since these are such important topics, we are breaking this event into 2 sessions, the second of which will probably be held during winter break.

Where: Spence-Chapin's Modern Family Center.
410 E 92nd St., New York, NY

Exact room TBD - check your registration email for updates.

Who: This event is only open to 18 year olds or older. It will be geared towards college sophomores and up; and, as all FCC events are, Asian American adoptees. However, age is the only requirement here. If a friend or family member would benefit from this event, please feel free to have them register.

How: We have limited space and will cap this registration at 25, therefore registration is required for you to attend. Please bring an ID that matches the name you register under. We will have some light food/dinner. Registration is $10.

Speaker: Our speaker is Janet Silverman, of Castle Consulting Services. In her own words, Castle Consulting is "a global recruiting firm mostly serving technology start-ups. We have been in business 22 years. We have placed executives, sales, marketing technical., HR, finance personnel." Prior to starting Castle Consulting Services Janet was in executive positions for AT&T, IBM and some technology start-ups. In the past year she has helped 20 college seniors and juniors in private coaching sessions prepare for their job search as well as helped others in the workforce redefine their career goals.
